Georgia Webber was raised on Craniosacral Therapy. Her mother, Jaya Craniosacral Therapist Karen Morch, trained alongside Alix McLaughlin and Robert Harris nearly 20 years ago — now Georgia has followed in her footsteps.
For most of her life, Georgia struggled with health conditions of varying intensity and mysterious origin (one of which you can read about at www.georgiasdumbproject.com). Craniosacral consistently brought about relief when other modalities were not subtle enough, not gentle enough. So much relief, in fact, that after many years of benefit from receiving Craniosacral Therapy, in 2015 Georgia decided it was time to teach her hands to pass it on. She completed her training with Robert Harris of the Cranial Therapy Centre in January 2016 and begins her Biodynamic Craniosacral training in June.
Though Georgia’s professional background is in comic arts and community organizing, she has always been drawn towards health practices for her own benefit and curiosity. In June 2015, Georgia completed a 500-hour yoga teacher training at Naada Yoga in Montréal. She is now training as a Postpartum Doula and apprenticing under Alix McLaughlin, to better appreciate the effects of Craniosacral on infants and new parents. Come summer, she returns to learning Western Herbalism from John Redden at Viriditas Herbal Products, and begins conflict resolution training at St. Stephen’s Community House with Nicki Landau.
Approach
In life, and in her Craniosacral practice, Georgia practices radical validation, anti-oppression and anti-racism, deep listening, and participatory healthcare. Georgia identifies as a cisgendered queer woman, preferring “she/her” pronouns. She invites her clients to identify their true selves as they feel safe to, with no obligation to disclose assigned identities. Her practice is grounded in client autonomy and willful participation, and she offers safe space for whatever expression of self is called for in the healing process.
Payment
Georgia has struggled with the inaccessibility of healthcare, and she has also been the fortunate recipient of great generosity on the part of her healthcare practitioners. To provide her clients options for both accessibility and generosity, Georgia offers her Craniosacral services at two rates.
If you are able to do so, paying the full rate of $75/hour will subsidize another client’s need to pay the reduced rate of $40/hour. In this way, your care for yourself is also care for another.
If you require the reduced rate or another arrangement to access Georgia’s services, please get in touch to discuss what is best for you.
Georgia peut aussi vous servir en francais, selon votre confort.
