For Efrat, yoga is both a physical practice and a form of therapy. Yoga is about physical movement but it also encompasses immense benefits on your mental and emotional wellbeing.
Efrat’s yoga therapy is practiced in small groups or private classes. Since every student has a different body and faces different challenges, Efrat structures a practice that is right for each students’ individual physical, emotional, and mental needs. Once a practice is built right, students will reap maximum benefit from their self-care.
An experienced yoga instructor, Efrat trained at Toronto’s Yoga Space and has been certified with the Canadian Yoga Alliance since 2008. Efrat has been teaching different yoga modalities to small groups for over five years with wonderful results.
Efrat’s yoga therapy helps students of all ages and physical ability. Yoga therapy is excellent for students suffering from anxiety, sleep problems, IBS, stress-related problems and PTSD. Efrat has developed a restorative practice that is ideal for older students. This practice includes breathing techniques, attention to the vayus (energetic spheres), focus on alignment and balance. Current and former cancer patients can find relief from cancer treatments in Efrat’s yoga classes. Neurological conditions, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease, see great benefits from yoga movement and breathing techniques. Efrat also specializes in women’s health. Yoga therapy supports pre- and post-natal care, menopause symptoms, incontinence, and other pelvic floor issues.
Efrat complements her yoga teaching with the use of mindfulness techniques and Reiki. Whenever students are unable to find quiet through yoga or mindfulness, Efrat turns to Reiki to release energetic blockages, opening channels for students to return to their yoga practice.
